Abstract

With temperatures rising over 100 degrees, the thought of pushing a lawn mower in the summer is overwhelming. We strive to create an easier, cleaner alternative to the traditional lawn mower. With Arduino and the xBee, we have created a remote controlled lawn mower. We used knowledge from a previous project, a line follower, to learn how to program with Arduino and to implement sensors. We used arduino to program our lawnbott to be controlled by a simple remote controller. The solar panel, on top, replaces the large amount of emissions from gas powered mowers with a clean, natural source of power. The lawnbott diminishes the painstaking labor of mowing with the joy of a R/C car.
